Much has been said about the quality of Sega Master System box art. 1up.com (warning! here be foul language) recently did a third entry into their ongoing series of the worst box art in history. They included a single cover from a Master System game by the name of My Hero that features a disembodied fist punching somebody in the face and little else. Nearly all SMS covers contained little more than a single poorly drawn character against a white and silver grid with the title of the game written in Times New Roman. Essentially, they all sucked. The reason I bring this up is because we just recently obtained a stack of SMS games, in box. There were a few gems in there including the original Phantasy Star and Space Harrier. And that's what I wanted to share with you, since odds are you've never owned a Master System, the cover for Space Harrier. Hit the jump to feast on some epic box art. |

Yesterday started out like any other day for us here at the store. In a word, slow. But that wasn't a problem, because yesterday was the release date for the highly anticipated BioShock. The game has been getting near perfect reviews and we've had some customers express interest in it, so we felt good about how the day would turn out. Just to make sure we'd know when our shipment would be here we called our distributor and asked for the tracking number.
"I can't find it right now, I'll give you a call back," our contact says.
"Uh-oh," I said.
Turns out that uh-oh was appropriate. They forgot to ship it. Oops? A set back, to say the least, but I wasn't about to let the day pass without having this game in the store, so we set out to fix the problem. Both of our distributors are located in New York, so after a quick order by phone, a Google maps search, and a cup of coffee, I was off. Keep in mind that I've never driven anywhere near NYC, let alone through Manhattan and Long Island, but I love you guys that much. Click "Read more..." for the rest of the adventure. |

As you can tell, our inventory is now available to view online. However, our online store is not yet ready. So for now the online store is up for you to get an idea of what we carry. Since the internet is not just a truck we can dump something on, we'll need a little more time to hammer out the online ordering. Not all items are in stock, Super Mario RPG, for instance sold out on our first day. As far as Wii's go, we had some, we'll try to get some more shortly but they will only be available in store. In the meantime, if there are any games you see on our site, feel free to call to check for availability. If we don't have what you're looking for, let us know and we'll do everything we can to get it for you. On a different note, we had a great first day. All I can say is, thank you Nintendo and your little white money printer. |

Alright, so, the pieces are falling into place and it seems like the actual opening will happen the week of August 13th. Otherwise known as Madden week. Talk about cutting it close. Still, mark your calendars. It's going to be an exciting week Oh, and this time this is a lot more certain than the previous dates, since we know when our inventory will be here. |
